I met a Norwegian woman at a bar near my flat about 2 weeks ago. In a friendly, brief conversation, she mentioned that she was studying at a hair salon called HOB. (foreshadow)
I have been in desperate need of my hair done, for my roots were taking over the highlights I received last October (yes, much past due). As many hair salon academies are in need of hair models, I thought I would see if HOB was doing a casting.
I walked into the salon on Wednesday and asked the receptionist for details. The manager was called down to confirm my modeling experience and asked me if I was ready for a change. After cautiously saying yes, I was told to come back on Friday to meet with the head of HOB’s hair design team for a final go.
I looked at the asymmetrical a-line cut and took a deep breath. Eyes open wide, “I don’t think so,” I said out of shock. I wasn’t expecting this much of a change!
I asked for 30 minutes to think about this drastic cut and proceeded to call friends out of desperate need of advice. “You’re in London”, “Hair grows back”, and “you only live for so long” were three thoughts that pushed me into saying YES! to a new do. This is the ultimate expression of “letting go” (a theme in my blog thus far).
Walking as quickly as possible so to not change my mind, I walked back into HOB and into the hair dresser’s chair.
