Blue Hue

Even when the skies are gray and the air is cold enough to blur your eyes with tears, color crouches in the shadows waiting to be discovered.

Spring will bring Color back into the equation.

Yes winter in Seattle has the potential to cause the doldrums.  Allow this statement to re-evaluate your situation:

Are you blue?  Why fall subject to this state of mind when blue is the color of clarity and refreshment, of depth and change?

Dip into the puddles of sorrow within you and reach out, painting the sky a more majestic hue.

It takes eyes wide-open to focus.  Take advantage of life's colorful opportunities.

One of my favorite memories of this winter:
On my break from work, I wandered down to Pike's Place Market to witness a clear day's setting sun.  I was among many who stopped to capture the beautiful scene.  Two onlookers behind me were on there way to the next destination.  As the sun dropped below the horizon, one said, "Alright, that was cool.  Let's go."  The other responded, "Not yet.  We have to wait for the sun to splash up on the clouds".

What a beautiful statement!  Let us all look for life's silver lining.  The clouds are present to intensify the sun's color.

Not only a silver lining--but GOLDEN

A Fashionable Response:
Lanvin introduces a natural palette at the beginning of in his spring 2011 collection.  An intermission is made as the muted colors transform into a colorful array of pink, red, yellow, blue, and purple.  The sun sets once again to conclude with natural hues.

Rather than letting "blue" affect your interior state, let the cold air crack your gray perspective and spill the color blue into your wardrobe choices.  Akris and Emilio Pucci exemplify this trend:
